1.    Opinion about the Information System Development Plan.

 Information System” is an organizational improvement process which is built for organization benefits“. What comes in our mind is that it deals with the pieces of data gathered together which is very important for the whole business process. This data are used for the whole process for the progress of any business related company.

            This type of system can help us gather pieces of data easily than looking or searching for the record somewhere. It could also help us evaluate the progress of our company and for us to make any preventive measures in case a problem arises. Few local companies were still engaged in the old kind of keeping records, and it is by means of recording it on paper and kept by authorize personnel. But that type of keeping the record manually is very critical because you may enter inaccurate data used for your inventory . With the use of information system development plan we could always improve our company. We can access accurate information’s anytime we need it. We can track and evaluate data easily and make some plans on how to develop the business. This type of system will affect the culture of work for the beginners but with successive training it can be easily adopted and it will give us the opportunity to bring changes or development and in able ones company to be competitive and productive one. This will also help the person responsible for the business to evaluate the things that’s lacking for them to their operations or transactions. Information System is an effective way of having common information to avoid confusion to the people on workand it allows us to focus on one objective the company aimed. For example in pharmaceuticals In terms of manufacturing or production of products or any other departments it is very useful because this will be the guide for each department. And hence they were working under one information system and one objective they must practice and developed teamwork for lesser hassles and be more productive. Every individual possess different characteristics and behavior but when it come to working ability each individual must do their part for the improvement of each company. Teamwork can be developed if everyone is willing to listen and understand. Success and prosperity comes next to each efforts and hard works.  Information is any combination of information technology and people’s activities using technology support operations, management. It also refers to the interaction between people, algorithmic process, data and technology. And information system is an organizational improvement process which are built and rebuilt for organizational benefits.

            Information system provides several advantages to the organization. Electronic communication increases the overall amount of communication within a firm. The most important aspect is that people from the various units of a corporation can interact with each other and this horizontal communication is promoted.

            Information system should have the following factors such as people which consist of system analyst, programmer, business managers and etc. ,equipment such as hardware and software, procedure in which their are business rules and a series of documented actions taken to achieve something, and last is the data in which the unorganized data and figure used to produce information.

            The way information is managed and used is very much a product of the culture and management styles of the organization. Changes in organizational structures and methods of using human resources together with the virtually universal implementation of information technology could have significant effect on the way information is perceived and used by organizations. Current management thinking puts information and cross functional access to information at the core of business operations. An adaptive corporate culture encourages employees to work at their highest achievement level and is able to absorb change. This kind of culture which is thought necessary for long-term growth has characteristics in common with an information culture.

            Information systems are being implemented to gain competitive advantage, the management of these systems and their content are seen as crucial to their effectiveness.

            3.      Reflection onthe impact of information system .

 Information System makes life easy. It has a great impact in organization because it is a way to increase the value of it. It gives assistance to the managers to make timely decisions for planning, directing and controlling the activities for which they are responsible. Information System makes life easy. It also helps the work easier because with an IS in the company it helps us to manufacture things that we only needed that it helps us plan how to use our materials in manufacturing because at first we don’t know what to do to the resources that we have that is not being use. An IS also ensures that it’s going to reduce our inventory in the company, IS also helps utilizes all our workers so the production will be much better.

The Information System in organizations is continuously improving. The use of it has evolved from the automation of structured processes to systems that are truly revolutionary in that they introduce change into fundamental business procedures. Management no longer relies on manual processes and a paper trail to perform everyday transactions. It made the works to be automated resulting to be more productive in terms of production. It increases worked productivity and frees up employees time to spend on value added services. But as the Information System became rampant, it also contributes a negative one. It reduces the number of employees intended to do a desirable tasks, as a result many employees had lost their jobs. It is because of the change of the system from manual to automated, the man labor was being minimized.

 Information System really affects one’s life. Never consider that although it help our works to be more efficient and productive, it also contribute one major problem in our economy like Unemployment  -while information technology may have streamlined the business process it has also created job redundancies, downsizing and outsourcing. This means that a lot of lower and middle level jobs have been done away with causing more people to become unemployed. And also Privacy of a person - though information technology may have made communication quicker, easier and more convenient, it has also bought along privacy issues. From cell phone signal interceptions to email hacking, people are now worried about their once private information becoming public knowledge.

4.    Suggestions or recommendation negative impact of the IS in the Organization.

JOBLESSNESS- they can’t come to terms with this sort of technology. There are some people who are less keyboard able than others.

GREAT DIFFICULTY FORMING TEAMS AND TEAMWORK- there was a lot of anticipation and people were trying to be tolerant, a situation where people have begun to say well this bloody system is rubbish and maybe their patience has run out but the finger pointing is starting

LACK OF APPRECIATION- electronically they’ve had stocks of things but they don’t exist.

TRAINING DISCIPLINE AND APPRECIATION- it takes time to change people. That has been a major difficulty, getting them to get it up to number one priority something has to be done at the end of every shift.

IMPLEMENTATION DONE INCORRECTLY-the production people are not signed on to what the company were doing, they feel it is something that has been forced on them. They don’t understand what the company wants to do with the system because of that it isn’t working in that area and that’s causing problems at the interface with other departments.

HISTORY AND CULTURE- they have been cowboys, they were out there making the chemicals, everybody else was a hanger-on.its just production culture. It’s history. It’s different now. That’s very difficult to get across to a production man who for all his life, for twenty years, his whole philosophy is to make batches as he can.

SUGGESTIONS:

Information system could really help a lot it processes by which human beings fashion tools and machines to increase their control and understanding of the material environment. Provides the ideas for technological innovations and that pure research is therefore essential for any significant advancement in industrial civilization is essentially a myth. But above all there are some cases that we could actually gain a lot of harmful effects from this technology though we are really in a computer generation but we should not forget also the older ways on how things come up, which I think more simpler and safer.

5. REFLECTION ON THE Ethical issues relating to the given Information System planning and implementation.

            With their increasing power and versatility, computers simplify day-to-day life. Unfortunately, as computer use becomes more widespread, so do the opportunities for misuse. New ethical issues also have arisen, such as how to regulate material on the Internet and the World Wide Web. Long-standing issues, such as privacy and freedom of expression, are being reexamined in light of the digital revolution. Individuals, companies, and governments are working to solve these problems through informed conversation, compromise, better computer security, and regulatory legislation. Computers will become more advanced and they will also become easier to use. The technology of interacting with a computer using all of the human senses, will also contribute to better human and computer interfaces.

            Company Y look for MAPICS since the feeling of company Y was that although MAPICS II was perfectly adequate for most of the business in the parent company and also it is really a big help for the company for having interviews of different experts. I think that is really a thumbs up for them.

            I really appreciate on how company Y handles the situation inspite of  all the pressure and the disadvantages that may happen if they utilize information system. And also the interviewees they are really excellent they are really knowledgeable enough in their own field because we can really see it on how they answer every questions precisely.

The key for Greater Success

Starting a business is not an easy task. It’s not like buying your favorite toy and threw it away when you don’t want it anymore. Building a business needs time, knowledge, expertise, person to work with, an effective management system and strategy and specially money.

            Being a production director comes with great responsibility. You just don’t work for yourself but all the people you work with and for the company itself. You must think for the good not only for the company but for the good of greater individual.

            Based on my reading about the Company Y the Production Director Mr. Dave Rantor is one of the strongest advocates of SAPI system. SAPI stands for Server Application Programming Interface the generic term used to designate direct module interfaces to web server applications. This means that they will be working under one server or database. Every employee will base there data on this system and its more accurate than their old process. This system development was due to some major problems which results for the management to come up with this system. The main problem they were facing is that they wanted to be more efficient and effective in the future so they need to contain cost and used the resources they had or sent more money for more equipment. Through having this type of system they were able to identify some of their existing problems in different department they have. Some problems were cause be inadequate or not accurate information or data that each individual has, lack of cooperation, not devoted employee etc. To be able to have a successful company, one must possess a hardworking and devoted employee. In that way each employee must find ways on how to develop and improved the company. Each individual will held hands together for greater results and that will led to teamwork. Everyone must have the concern towards the company, the one who value and loves their job. For me cooperative, understanding, competitive people are what the company needs to be successful. They must understand individual value of work and communicate with each other to lessen any conflict they might encounter with the production or any department they belong. They must also be willing to learn new things and willing to be trained. With all those things together with the SAPI system the company will change a lot and will achieve their goals and objectives whatever it is. And everyone will be compensated according to what’s due to them. Working with this kind of system will lessen the job and it can also be access immediately whenever it is needed. Each organization or company needs different kinds of system for improvements and development.

What I Wanted the Most

                There are many things that I wanted in life. Before studying here I enrolled in a nursing school but I guess that field was not meant for me.

                I decided to take Information Technology when I transfer here. It all started when my curiosity arise about the different thing use to be operated under the use of computer. At first I was amazed of the talents possesses by the people behind animation. I was an anime fanatic and I dreamed of making animation in the near future and so with manipulating computers in different ways. During my past few years here in this institute I’ve encounter many difficulties And I think that was because have less knowledge about computers when I first step in here. I choose this course without thinking what would be the real thing behind the things that fascinated me the most. And I guess I surpassed those trials because I’m still standing and wanting to learn more. I find myself very interesting in making web page and still want to know many thing that deals with technology based system.

                Every individual was molded in different ways. But before I allow you to scan some chapters of my life, first things first.

                I am Flordeliza Maestrado Nacaituna. A 3^rd yr BSIT (Bachelor of Science in Information Technology) student of Central Mindanao University. Before my life here in this university I’ve passes through many obstacles about my studies and especially my family. A family is just like a computer program no matter how beautiful your design is, you’ll always encounter error during the scripting or coding process. Sometimes you’ll encounter debug during runtime. We were formed and molded by our parents to be a better person. They work like machines just to raise us and provide our necessities. As their daughter I really appreciate the entire thing they’ve done for us. Though people were not perfect I look up to them as a model in my own ways. At some point of time I did wish I could reformat my life and install another operating system and anti-virus which causes threats towards me so that all the pain will vanished. Before I believe I was the weakling of the family but I guess I have my own way of facing life and that was because of the new thing I learned with the help of the people that surrounds me. I realize no matter I restart my life virus will always infect my system because I let my weakness rule my life. I must become stronger just like my parent and with the help of the great anti- virus and best programmer of my life. Being in this institution I learned a lot that helps me in handling every challenge I met along my journey in this University. I know that there are a lot more trials and challenges that will come to my life but I believe I have the best anti-virus and with his guidance I know I can surpass everything and rich my goals in life. He’s always beside us in everything we do. He is like DSS that provides option and so with the result but we have Artificial Intelligence to decide in which way we wanted to be part of.

                Some misinterprets me and there’s a common reason it’s because of my facial expression and the way I act. But all of that was just a physical thing just look deep into me and you’ll found the real me. You can scan my real features and characteristics before judging me and that way I can prove myself you’ve got the wrong idea. One of a kind, & A Great Fact

                Many inventions and discoveries spread worldwide. Mostly were being adopted by millions of people around the globe. What a magnificent job for those inventors and scientist who created it. Today a wide spread issues about the rapidly growing of a new technology which has infinite application in almost everything we do is said to be cause by Nanotechnology.

                  Nanotechnology was popularized by K. Eric Drexler and as its basic definition it is the engineering of functional system at the molecular scale. This covers both current work and concepts that are more advanced. It refers to the projected ability to construct item from the bottom up, using techniques and tools being developed today to make complete high performance products.(http://www.crnano.com/)

                Nanotech indeed has a big impact on all industries in all areas of society. Because it is said to offer “better built, longer lasting, cleaner, safer, & smart products for home, for communication, for medicine, for transportation, for agriculture, for industry in general”. It improves manufacturing processes that make our life a lot easier. New technologies have great improvements to our industry but we can’t hide the fact that it always has its risk or bad implication. Let’s take a look during 19th century were Revolutionary changes occur such as industrial revolution where heavy metals introduced, discoveries of oil, gasoline, and electricity, and so with the invention of machines for agriculture, transportation, and communication. It was indeed a great help for us because up to now we are using it in our daily activity. I can say it has bad implication because we people tend to rely on these technologies. Pollution from factories and vehicles, diseases cause by toxins, simple diseases that can be cured by herbal medicines before become completed or harmful diseases now a days. Though technology has great help for discovering new medication but still problem occurs, our job or things we do were affected when power interruption occur, computer helps as earn more knowledge but some were being addicted to computer games etc, and many other more. Throughout my research about the growth of nanotech I learned that this invention will led us to development of “life saving robots, networked computers for everyone, trillion & dollars of abundance, rapid invention of wondrous products”. But it is also the means of “untraceable weapon of mass destruction, surveillance cameras so government can watch our every move which will violate our right to privacy, a vicious scramble to own everything, and lastly weapons fast development to destabilize any arms race”. Those mention above could led us to face the risk such as economic disruption , environmental damage, war, terrorism, no privacy, world dictatorship, block markets and smuggling. Aside from the wonderful things it could serve us in the future it also has its serious economic, social, environmental, and military implications. I believe that we should be aware that this will probably be causing severe disruption to humanity. New technology offers many wondrous things and so with the arrival of different problems that will require different solutions as well. We as a responsible individual must do our part for the betterment of our future and must held hands together in preventing massive disruption.

                That was all about technology for me. I’m not against technology, in fact I’m enjoying new technologies right now it is part of my daily living. I just want to share the facts I learned for us to be aware and for us to make actions to avoid such thing in happening. I am hoping that Nanotechnology will be used in positive way for the benefit of mankind and our mother earth.
